Overview of LINKETT Wi-Fi Services

LINKETT helps us understand how large groups of people behave. This service collects and aggregates information that is broadcast by Wi-Fi enabled devices. We use this data to create reports for our partners to help them improve their content performance. It allows entities such as DOOH Networks to engage directly with their visitors through Wi-Fi and digital signage applications. This service helps us and our partners provide you with customized content experiences. Throughout this Privacy Policy, we describe the types of information that are associated with these services.

Information practices specific to our services is described in more detail below, followed by generally applicable information about data practices that apply.

LINKETT Information Practices

Information Collection

When you walk near or enter one of our partners’ locations with a Wi-Fi-enabled mobile device, Wi-Fi access points may detect the presence of that device and its Media Access Control Address (“MAC Address”). We refer to this information as Visit Information. This Visit Information is collected and processed as you move across partners that use our technology. We and/or our partners may aggregate this Visit Information into reports for us and/or our partners. If you do not wish us and/or our partners to associate this Visit Information, please see http://linkett.com/ext/new/privacy.html and “opt-out”.

Information Use

Visit Information is used to provide aggregated reports for our partners and for research to improve our products and develop new services. Our partners use the reports for a variety of purposes, such as to:

Visit Information is used by or shared with our partners as described above, so that we and/or they can provide you a better experience.

In the event that LINKETT is acquired by or merged with a third-party entity or is potentially going to be acquired by or merged with a third party entity, if its substantial assets are acquired by a third party, in any partial or total sale of assets including in the event of bankruptcy, or in any other corporate change, LINKETT may transfer or assign the information as part of that actual or potential merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control. The promises in this Privacy Policy will apply to your data as transferred to the new entity.

We may share information in response to a request for information if we believe disclosure is in accordance with, or required by, any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request. We require a warrant or court order before disclosing any of the limited amount of device location data that we possess.

Your Choices

LINKETT complies with the Mobile Location Analytics Code of Conduct. As provided for in the code, you may elect to opt out of associating a device with a MAC address by emailing info@linkett.com and we will remove any existing MAC address data in the future.

If you are a California resident, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits you to opt out of LINKETT sharing personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes by emailing info@linkett.com.

Data Retention

Data from Visit Information is retained for 24 months, unless it is necessary to keep the information for legal purposes. After 24 months, data about hashed MAC addresses is retained in aggregate form.

Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post these changes in this policy, and suggest that you revisit this policy periodically to stay informed of any updates.
